The Zipp 858 NSW Disc wheel is a tubeless-ready carbon rim with a depth from 82 to 85 mm, designed for triathlon and time trials. The undulating profile is designed for crosswind stability. The 23 mm internal width accommodates wide tyres run at lower pressures, and the manufacturer specifies a minimum of 28 mm.
The ZR1 SL hub has ceramic bearings and 66 engagement points. The wheel has 20 spoke holes, a 12 x 100 mm axle (front) or 12 x 142 mm axle (rear), a Centerlock mount and a claimed weight of 1500 g. The manufacturer recommends a 28 mm tyre and specifies 30 mm as the optimised size. The wheel comes in 700c; the rear has a SRAM XDR or SRAM/Shimano HG freehub body.
