The Shimano PD-M8220 pedals from the DEORE XT series are SPD clipless pedals designed for trail mountain biking. The system works with SPD cleats: CL-MT001 cleats are included and are compatible with the SPD cleats you already use. Engagement is multidirectional, so the shoe clips in from either side.
The robust outer cage protects the mechanism from rock impacts, a useful feature on technical trails. Sealed bearings and four adjustable traction pins on a raised platform complete the package: adjust the pins to suit your preferred level of grip.
