The Look design team has completely redesigned the profile of Keo 2 Max, giving it a new, slimmer shape with a larger contact surface, further improving style and efficiency.

Optimised contact surface
The pedals' contact area is particularly important. It is part of the brand's identity and the manufacturer's hallmark.
The contact area of the new Keo 2 Max retains the robust lines that made it famous. Its width has been increased to 60 mm to offer a wider platform and better stability while pedalling. This creates a superior feel and unparalleled comfort that cannot be found in other pedals.
Power transfer has also been optimised by increasing the usable surface to 500 mm² (+25% more). The shape of the stainless steel plate has been revised to match the cleat more closely and maintain a consistent contact area, and therefore performance, regardless of foot position (which also depends on the degrees of float of the cleat used).
Increasing the pedals' contact surface without adding weight has improved the "Power to Weight" ratio, making this product even better and allowing you to perform at your best.

Improved axle profile
The axle profile of the new Keo 2 Max has also been optimised. Built around an Oversize Chromoly+ axle, it features an internal ball bearing and a needle bearing beneath the contact surface to manage the load effectively and distribute it optimally.
A new component has been added between these two bearings. The washer previously used to hold the needle bearing in position has been replaced by a conical spacer. This technical solution reduces friction and improves smoothness, consequently allowing tighter geometric tolerances in the pedal body and less associated play. All these improvements have been designed to ensure uncompromising reliability.
