Technology

SwingLink

Pull a SRAM brake lever and you notice it immediately. Less dead zone. More positive engagement. A new cam system requires less lever travel to push the pads toward the rotor. It's great, but perfect braking performance requires more than just power. You need control. Many braking systems minimize dead zone but at the expense of modulation. SwingLink solves this problem with its special cam shape. When the pads contact the rotor, the lever ratio curve is flat and smooth, avoiding the "on/off" brake feel. It's the perfect balance between power and precision.

Timing Port Closure

The timing port of a hydraulic brake is the connection between the reservoir and the lever cylinder bore. When the lever is pressed, a cup seal passes this area and closes the port, pressurizing the system. The SRAM distribution port closure system features durable seals and an ultra-smooth cylinder bore finish that produces reliable braking power and consistency.

Expandable Bladder

The new SRAM brake lever design includes a membrane that helps regulate and reduce air bubbles. The membrane is specially shaped to evacuate air from the lever and push fluid exactly where it’s needed. The result is better backpressure release, producing reliable braking power and consistency.

Bleeding Edge

With this new caliper fluid circuit, the bleed port has been moved to the bottom of the caliper and all four piston bores can communicate. This way, during bleeding, the fluid naturally fills the caliper, resulting in easier and more consistent bleeding.

Contact Point Adjustment

Some people like the instant power of a short lever stroke. Some prefer the feel of a longer throw. With contact point adjustment, you can choose the position where you want your fingers to be when the brakes are engaged. It's a simple and quick way to customize the feel of your brakes without moving the pads. It's also a way to balance both brake levers so they have the same feel.
