S Soft Terrain
The Scorpion™ MTB Soft Terrain tread consists of taller, widely spaced knobs that ensure excellent ground penetration and high mechanical and chemical grip, making it perfect even for more aggressive riding styles. The height and stiffness of the knobs promote ground penetration and mechanical grip, ensuring excellent braking and traction performance and feel, as well as excellent cornering support. The specific knob spacing of Scorpion™ Soft Terrain and the compound formulation also help shed material accumulated on the tread at low speeds.

SmartGrip Compound
Decades of success in Motocross and Rally world championships have led Pirelli engineers to develop an innovative compound: SmartGrip Compound for Scorpion™ MTB, combining two opposing characteristics: tear resistance, for maximum mechanical grip in dry conditions alongside maximum puncture resistance; chemical grip on wet surfaces, so there is no need to worry about rain and muddy, slippery sections of trail. The compound is the result of an intensive research and development process that has delivered outstanding performance in both dry and wet conditions. Designs optimised for terrain consistency work regardless of the weather, maximising the effectiveness of the different knob geometries in the Scorpion™ MTB range for truly uncompromising performance. HardWall
Casing with bead-to-bead protection and a hard rubber insert positioned above the bead for reliability suited to any aggressive riding style. The multiple reinforcements incorporated into the structure improve the overall strength of the casing and ensure greater support when riding at low pressures: with a bead-to-bead nylon layer integrated into the casing plies and a thick hard rubber insert above the bead, HardWall handles heavy loads easily and prevents punctures. Numerous integrated reinforcement technologies, combined with a 60tpi nylon casing, result in a solid tyre construction that benefits reliability and ride quality without compromising weight. The MTB HardWall casing is dedicated to trail and enduro riding.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless ready tyres offer riders many advantages: the ability to use lower air pressures, improving traction; lower rolling resistance than a tyre with an inner tube; and a lower risk of punctures because there is no inner tube. Tubeless ready tyres must be fitted to tubeless-compatible rims and require liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Be sure to check the sealant regularly and replace it if necessary, as it dries out over time.
