Speed GRIP compound

A gravel-specific formulation developed from Pirelli's experience in rallying, where rolling efficiency on tarmac and grip on gravel are crucial. This compound uses the same polymer matrix as the MTB SmartGrip Compound, but improves its rolling efficiency. Gravel riding requires greater speed and on/off-road versatility, so Pirelli's engineers have focused the compound's properties on improved energy efficiency, allowing excellent performance on unpaved terrain and high grip in both dry and wet conditions. Rolling efficiency on any surface is similar to that recorded by dedicated road tyres.

Tech WALL Gravel

Combining the expertise developed for reinforced road constructions with experience gained in MTB, Pirelli's engineers have created a gravel construction that relies on both the mechanical strength of the compound itself and a highly cut-resistant layer that protects the casing from bead to bead. While road punctures are mainly caused by penetration from sharp objects, off-road punctures are more often caused by stones or debris on the tyre's sidewall. The textile material used for the TechWALL construction is therefore particularly resistant to cuts, ensuring improved resistance throughout the structure. The 60tpi tubeless-ready casing ensures an optimal ride feel without the risk of forced stops, thanks to the use of specific cut-resistant fabrics.
