Building on the carbon layering found in the cutting-edge 353 NSW, the 202 NSW features our biomimetic laminate that uses different types of variable modulus carbon to maximize stiffness in the spoke bed area and toughness in the tire bed area, mimicking the function of a muscle tendon. The carbon fibers selected for the rim’s outer diameter favor strength and durability to withstand road impacts, while the inner diameter uses higher modulus fibers to maintain consistent spoke tension under dynamic loads during riding. The result is a rim design that enables a wheelset under 1100 grams, responsive to every input without sacrificing durability and the aerodynamic advantage of its 35 mm profile on descents.
