The aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum alloy has excellent physical properties, offering abrasion resistance, deformation resistance, high rigidity, and ultra-lightweight. Made from 7075 aluminum alloy, the entire chainring weighs only 143g while still maintaining excellent performance. Based on the stress contour derived from FEA technical analysis, we reinforced the structural design of the part under concentrated loads, thus reducing deformation under heavy loads. We create a perfect balance between weight, rigidity, and durability, which perfectly meets the needs of professional cyclists in training and racing. *The lightweight QED chainring has passed more than 100,000 fatigue tests and over 40,000 kilometers of endurance testing. Data provided by Magene Lab.
CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control and represents a precision manufacturing process with uniform and consistent standards. The adoption of CNC technology ensures that all components work together flawlessly. With advanced CNC technology, machining and positioning techniques are effective and precise.
After several product design iterations and studies on the performance and wear characteristics of various types of chainring teeth, the lightweight QED chainring adopts a new third-generation tooth shape, developed internally. As a result, transmission and shifting efficiency have been significantly improved.
We recalculated parameters related to the root, groove, and tooth shape of the chainring and made targeted adjustments to improve mechanical transition efficiency under heavy loads. The chain can thus adhere tightly to the chainring and shift precisely and quickly from the small to the large chainring.
In the fastest cases, the chain can shift to the large chainring in 1/5 of a turn. This ensures precise and smooth gear changes at different speeds and conditions.
The distance between each tooth has been increased, and the resistance between the teeth has been further improved, effectively extending the chainring’s longevity. The lifespan of the chain and chainring has increased by about 3% compared to the previous version.
The lightweight QED chainring uses the popular 110BCD 4-bolt specification, reducing weight and offering more comprehensive compatibility.
Magene also offers a power sensor solution based on a spider in addition to the chainring. It is possible to use an exclusive power meter according to personal needs. The lightweight QED chainring is perfectly compatible with Magene’s flagship product, the QED P505 power meter, and the basic PES P505 power meter.
The QED chainring is compatible with Shimano 11 and 12-speed groups.
