Developed and tested with Turbulent Aero technology, the 42|49 are designed to be suitable for everything, offering comfort and excellent aerodynamic sensitivity. The 42 wheels|49, which have already ridden the roads of Paris-Roubaix and the Giro d’Italia, come with a lifetime warranty and a specific crash-replacement in case of accident. In line with Reserve’s working methods, you’ll find external nipples, standard spokes, no limitations for tires with a semi-hooked design, and of course no weight limit for the rider.

Tested in the wind tunnel

The life of a wheel like the new Reserve 42|49 T starts with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), aiming to maximize aerodynamics and improve stability. Reserve’s exclusive wind tunnel tests then provide data focused on simulating real-world airflow, allowing us to confirm performance goals in a sterile and controlled environment. Reserve has thus created one of the most stable and aerodynamic wheels ever.

Durable and lightweight

Optimizing the strength and weight of our rims requires continuous effort starting in our California composite lab located in Santa Cruz. We not only work to develop the carbon fiber layup, but we have also developed a proprietary testing protocol to simulate real-world wheel spoke impacts and breaks. As a result, we can define the exact fiber orientation for each rim model to maximize stiffness and strength.
